I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former twice unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
